Responsibilities:

Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks essential for the plant's operational efficiency.

Key priorities include adhering to preventive maintenance schedules, repairing equipment to sustain optimal production levels, and managing spare parts inventory effectively.

This role requires flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and on-call duties for urgent repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position encompass, but are not limited to:


- Diagnose and repair machinery and control systems (including extruders, corrugators, and chillers).

- Enhance skills through participation in company training programs.

- Identify, specify, and procure replacement parts and control components as necessary.

- Contribute to the performance of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by completing PM and repair work orders promptly while ensuring compliance.

- Act as the first responder for troubleshooting machine issues, collaborating with Electrical Engineering for additional support when required.

- Collaborate with production teams to ensure the safe and reliable operation of plant machinery.

- Assist in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency and safety.

- Support daily management directives and initiatives.

- Perform maintenance on 48-53ft van trailers.

Job Skills:

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in using electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters and ammeters.

- Understanding of basic machine functions and production machinery operations.

- Experience in interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.

- Familiarity with NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 standards.

- Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out safety protocols.

- Understanding of arc flash and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

- General skills in industrial mechanics, electrical systems, plumbing, and pneumatics, including troubleshooting capabilities.

- Strong time management and task prioritization abilities.

- Knowledge of three-phase industrial wiring and power distribution.

- Experience with AC and DC drive/motor maintenance, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting.

- Proficient in troubleshooting PLC I/O and networking.

- Familiarity with motion control training involving servo drives and motors.

- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with plant personnel, company resources, and vendors.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

- Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.

Educational Requirements:
- High School or Vocational School Diploma or equivalent - Required

- Technician-level training in electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems - Preferred

- Basic training in PLC and drive systems - Preferred

Preferred Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years in industrial maintenance, focusing on electrical systems and controls.

- Knowledge of plastic processing techniques.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy items, with the capacity to repeatedly lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet.

- Capability to remain mobile and active for a minimum of 8 continuous hours during shifts.

- Ability to perform physical labor in varying temperature conditions.

- Daily handling of materials, requiring the use of hands, arms, and legs for transportation of finished goods.

- Full range of body motion is necessary, including twisting, bending, reaching, and the ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment.
