POSITION PURPOSE:
This role is accountable for the safe and effective management of maintenance personnel at the generating facility. Under the general guidance of the Maintenance Manager, this individual will provide direct oversight and leadership to the maintenance team.

The position involves planning, scheduling, and supervising predictive, preventative, corrective, and overhaul maintenance of all power plant electric generating, steam producing, fuel handling, and associated equipment.

The objective is to ensure the plant operates reliably, safely, and in compliance with environmental regulations while maintaining efficiency. This role requires exercising independent judgment within established policies and practices, with results assessed through the achievement of defined goals and adherence to these standards.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the plant operates safely and complies with all regulatory requirements.
- Direct maintenance personnel and contractors as necessary to uphold plant reliability and efficiency.
- Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work order program, ensuring effective allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet maintenance schedules.

- Schedule and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance based on equipment and system requirements.


- Continuously review and enhance maintenance processes, ensuring that staff are adequately trained and adhere to established procedures and industry standards.
- Evaluate, schedule, and budget maintenance activities to optimize cost-effectiveness, work quality, and equipment availability.

- Ensure performance goals are met and conduct timely performance reviews to align employee responsibilities with maintenance processes.


- Investigate operational anomalies and incidents to enhance equipment availability and performance while minimizing maintenance needs.
- Prepare maintenance reports promptly and investigate all forced outages.
- Maintain effective communication with the Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, and administrative staff.

- Recommend and supervise the scheduling and execution of overhauls for plant equipment and systems by external contractors or plant personnel.


- Provide input on spare parts inventory aligned with preventive maintenance and repair needs.
- Establish departmental and group goals based on the requirements of stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- The noise level in the work environment typically ranges from quiet to moderate in the office but may become loud at the plant site.


- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery with high temperatures. Exposure to heights requires the use of personal fall protection systems (harness/lifeline).

- Occasionally exposed to vibration and fumes or airborne particles, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment such as respirators and fire-retardant clothing.
