Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team at Towson Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing exceptional nursing services to our residents and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement department policies and procedures to ensure resident care and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with staffing to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in annual surveys and reviews of government agency inspections.
- Complete performance reviews of subordinate staff and provide guidance and education as needed.
- Provide counseling and disciplinary action to subordinate staff members as necessary.
- Responsible for training and educating staff members on infection control and standard precaution practices.
- Ensure established safety precautions are maintained at all times.
- Report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain resident comfort, privacy, and dignity, and interact with them in a caring and respectful manner.
- Assist with new admissions, re-admissions, and resident transfers.
- Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position directly supervises all nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and GNAs.
Work Environment: This role operates in a healthcare setting, requiring regular walking to various locations and use of standard office equipment.
Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
