About the Role:

This position will support new product development in Endoscopy R&D, focusing on developing products, materials, processes, or equipment. The successful candidate will work under direct supervision to compile, analyze, and report operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products, processes, and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fully participate in and successfully contribute to project teams, including product design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations, report preparation, and process/test documentation.
  • Work independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
  • Design and coordinate rudimentary engineering tests and experiments.
  • Design, procure, and fabricate simple tooling and fixtures.
  • Perform troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.
  • Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from test results.
  • Prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community.
  • Responsible for engineering documentation.
  • Invent/conceptualize new products/processes and submit idea disclosures.
  • May train and/or provide work direction to technicians.
Requirements:
  • BS in Engineering or related field.
  • Self-motivated with a strong history of solving problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Passion for learning about relevant anatomy, understanding clinical use scenarios, and solving problems for end users.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with medical device industry standards.
