R&D Specialist

Job Summary
This position works independently to assist R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop concepts and construct prototypes/products from concepts.
- Utilize basic mechanical drawing or CAD software to document prototypes and fixtures.
- Explore and propose creative solutions based on solid rationales and contribute to design and process concepts.
- Organize, coordinate, and execute building and testing of prototypes/products per engineering instructions.
- Assist project teams in establishing specifications and quality standards.
- Use internal resources and qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams to identify and obtain supplies and services.
Requirements
AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline, plus 3 years of related experience.
Computer use experience (Office 365, Excel)
Mechanical or Electrical ability/experience
Previous experience with testing, documentation, and calibration
General Understanding of working in a regulated environment or previous Med Device experience
Experience with Electrical or Electromechanical systems involving troubleshooting or assembly.
Knowledge of and experience using Oscilloscopes, DMMS and working knowledge of electrical systems.
Electrical experience and laser fiber and console testing experience.
