General Role Overview:

Oversee and manage the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives for the designated business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Propose and implement safety training programs for employees and contractors to ensure adherence to legal standards and corporate policies while fostering best practices.
  • Ensure that all personnel are assigned the necessary training for safe operational procedures, maintaining accurate certification records and reporting any discrepancies to management.
  • Facilitate EHS orientation sessions for employees and contractors, educating them on new and revised procedures, processes, and regulations.
  • Investigate and document any reported unsafe conditions, near misses, or accidents, providing detailed reports to management.
  • Address any inappropriate conduct that may jeopardize safety, documenting and reporting findings to management.
  • Conduct regular audits of facilities to verify compliance with EHS regulations and company policies, escalating issues as needed.
  • Develop and implement Emergency Action Plans, coordinating with local emergency services and conducting drills as the site emergency coordinator.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications through diligent management of compliance processes.
  • Recommend enhancements to the EHS program by monitoring regulatory changes, researching best practices, and liaising with relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Analyze and compile EHS-related data from facilities, providing timely reports to management.
  • Oversee the workers' compensation process, ensuring accurate claim filing and coordination with HR.
  • Manage the company's drug and alcohol program in collaboration with HR.
  • Review and suggest modifications to EHS-related contracts and agreements with third-party suppliers.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in EHS.
  • Proven ability to interpret and comply with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
  • Established positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel less than 5% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Safety Professional or equivalent.
  • Experience in environments certified under ISO 14001 and 45001.
  • Background in collaborating with field service organizations.
