Position Overview

The Educational Support Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through tailored instructional strategies, collaborative teaching, and targeted reading support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with special educational needs in reaching their IEP objectives.
  • Work closely with general education and resource specialists to enhance student learning.
  • Conduct reading interventions and facilitate small group instruction.
  • Engage in co-teaching initiatives with general education instructors.
  • Review and execute lesson plans effectively.
  • Provide in-class support, particularly for students with IEPs, during middle school sessions.
  • Participate actively in professional development to improve both academic and cultural aspects of the school.
  • Uphold high standards of behavior and implement restorative discipline practices.
  • Maintain effective communication with educators, families, and other relevant parties.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Experience working with various learning needs, particularly those with special requirements.

  • Commitment to structured classroom environments and high expectations for all learners.
  • Prior experience with students with mild to moderate needs is preferred.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Special education credential or intention to enroll in a relevant program within one year.
  • Criminal background clearance, including fingerprinting and TB testing.
  • CPR certification is required within 60 days of employment.
  • Experience working with youth, especially those with special needs.
