Position Overview:
This role is situated within a correctional environment, providing essential medical support to individuals in custody. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with daily living activities, including:
  • Personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs for evaluation by nursing staff.
  • Facilitating patient mobility and assisting with meal distribution.
  • Reporting any changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.

Key Responsibilities:
The position encompasses a variety of duties aimed at ensuring quality care for inmates, including:
  • Assisting with patient transfers and repositioning in bed.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient intake and output.
  • Engaging with patients to provide orientation and support.
  • Changing linens and maintaining cleanliness in patient areas.
  • Participating in the development of patient care plans.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a valid Nurse Aide Certification (CNA) and a QMAP Certification. A minimum of one year of full-time experience as a CNA is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a correctional setting and familiarity with diverse patient populations are advantageous. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are also preferred.

This position requires the ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment, necessitating strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
