Job Description

Tandym Group is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Secure Integrated Solutions (SIS) Division, you will be responsible for driving the execution of project-based design/build efforts, focusing on OT to deliver COTS solutions to nuclear and other complex and critical infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve the performance, agility, and innovation in the project through the consistent execution and improvement of process or procedures.
  • Server and Network Deployment: Work with Windows Workstations and servers, virtualization, storage systems, Linux based security appliances, network switches, firewalls, etc. in an Active Directory environment to stand-up, configure, test and deliver small server/workstations) OT based environments.
  • Server and Network Management: Perform server and network deployment and management through the entire product delivery life-cycle while working with the Software and Hardware Engineering teams to deliverable and validate product feature sets.
  • Problem-Solving: Applies an analytical and detail-oriented approach with problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, resolve and document issues.
  • Vulnerability Analysis: Perform vulnerability analysis, documentation and patching of windows devices, appliances, network devices, and COTS applications to support system wide vulnerability management.
  • Configuration Management: Changes/Updates to Server Configurations maintaining a high level of Configuration Management.
  • Program Execution: Identify objectives, perform execution, and follow programs and processes to ensure work is accomplished in accordance with budget and design requirements.
  • System Hardening: Perform system hardening.
  • Cybersecurity and Engineering Solutions: Engagement in cybersecurity and engineering solutions, practices, and delivery processes.
  • COTS Solution Integrations: Execute COTS solution integrations through collaboration with cross-discipline engineering teams, including software, hardware, test, and systems engineers.
  • Knowledge Management: Collaborate with peers for knowledge management, information sharing, and consistency of engineering processes and solutions across the organization.
  • Task Execution and Communication: Execution of tasks on active projects and communication of task related status and challenges.
  • Engineering Cost Estimates: Contribute to the development of engineering cost estimates based on project requirements.
  • Customer Communications: Participate in direct customer communications with regard to program execution and maintenance.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of engineering methodologies.
  • Requires US citizenship or permanent residence (green card).
Desired Experience
  • Experience in project-based work with requirements driven deliverables.
  • Networking protocols and small to mid-sized network design.
  • VMware vSphere clusters.
  • Nuclear communications systems and terminology.
  • CISSP or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEI 08-09 and CIS based hardening requirements.
  • Requirements based analysis, design, build through the use of a Standard V-Model approach to Systems Engineering.
