Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Debt Resolution Specialist to join our team at Automated Collection Services. As a key member of our Student Loan Department, you will play a critical role in handling inbound and outbound calls with borrowers to discuss their outstanding balances and offer resolutions for repayment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with borrowers through inbound and outbound calls to discuss their outstanding balances and offer resolutions for repayment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), while conducting debt collection activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communication and collection activities.
  • Handle debtor inquiries or disputes in a timely and professional manner, working towards satisfactory resolution while protecting the interests of the organization.
  • Utilize the internet effectively for location information through skip tracing efforts.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Call center/debt collection experience: highly preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week.
  • Ability to work with all members of the ACSI team in a fair and friendly manner and to treat each team member with dignity and respect (FFDR).
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to de-escalate high stress calls.
  • Knowledge of FDCPA and state laws.
  • Read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task by speaking with customers and typing notes simultaneously.
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant computer programs such as MS office.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple accounts and prioritize collection activities efficiently.
Mandatory Training
  • Must have the ability to travel to the ACSI Headquarters each day for training: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am-3:00pm.
  • Hybrid Work Environment is available after the completion of training and 60 days client approved performance - 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
Hybrid Requirements
  • High speed internet connection with the ability to connect to your client assigned system utilizing a connection via ethernet cable.
  • The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) set the standard for broadband internet at 25 Mbps for download speeds, and 3 Mbps for upload. To be considered "high speed" your download speed should be higher than the 25 Mbps standard, ranging anywhere from 100 to 1,000 Mbps.
  • Home office with ZERO background noise and ZERO distractions.
  • It should be noted that in the event there are attendance issues or compliance issues remote work may be suspended and work within the office may be required.
