Lactation Consultant RN

We are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant RN to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our education team, you will collaborate with consultants and managers to develop, design, deliver, and evaluate education strategies and special projects that meet our clients' departmental goals and needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate programs to meet regulatory requirements and organizational needs.
- Design, develop, and coordinate continuing professional education for staff.
- Collaborate with consultants to develop special projects in professional education, development, and learning.
- Communicate and market education programs to a broad target audience using appropriate methods.
- Participate in classroom instruction on developed projects.
- Make recommendations for cost/quality strategies and work within budget.
- Serve as an expert resource to staff and departments in defining and meeting educational, clinical, quality, and cost outcomes and performance measures.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the orientation, cross-training, and education/competency processes/systems for clinical staff.
- Respond to corporate and industry changes in clinical practice and provide necessary training, education, and development to improve organizational performance.
- Ensure compliance and documentation of organizational records based on regulatory agency standards.
- Previous teaching experience or recent experience in in-service education in a clinical service area (usually 2-5 years).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (usually 4 years) in education required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Registered Nurse License (California) and International Board Lactation Consultant Examiners Certificate within 12 months of hire.
- Additional requirements include experience in breastfeeding education and postpartum and/or mother-baby, knowledge of Standards of Care pertinent to breastfeeding education, adult learning knowledge, and demonstrated ability to utilize interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and group facilitator/process skills.
- CPR instructor preferred.
- Certified Lactation Educator (CLE).
- Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
- BLS and PALS.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong customer service skills.
