Medical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the Lewistown Primary Care Clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients with acute and chronic needs
- Prepare patients for healthcare provider visits, maintain a positive and caring attitude, and ensure patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights
- Obtain and record patient information, vital signs, and medical history
- Administer medications and vaccines, perform routine tests, and schedule patients for diagnostic testing
- Communicate test results to patients and establish plans of care
- Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment
- Perform clinical diagnostic x-rays and prepare completed studies for provider review
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Limited Scope certificate and state license
- Maintain radiology education
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
- Minimum of three (3) months of previous experience within a healthcare setting
- Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam (ie: AAMA or AMT) for Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- At least one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience
This position requires ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy is also required.
This position also requires expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
This position often requires standing in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
