Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Safety Manager in the execution of safety and health objectives
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure safe working areas and discuss safe working practices with employees
  • Participate in monthly plant safety assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Investigate accidents and ensure prompt and adequate first aid/medical care is provided to employees
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, including the Annual Safety Training (MSHA) program
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations to ensure employees understand their safety responsibilities
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in safety and compliance, preferably in a manufacturing or mining industry
  • Strong understanding of MSHA requirements and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
