Job Summary

Salas O'Brien's Process and Manufacturing Division is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our team in Decatur, AL. As an Instrumentation and Control Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial processes
  • Work with engineers and designers to ensure safe, timely, and efficient designs
  • Provide project leadership and coordination to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while promoting company-wide initiatives and values
  • Develop business by interfacing with existing and potential clients
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Professional Engineering License in the State of Alabama or ability to obtain license within 60 days of hire
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in chemical, refining, and/or heavy industrial facilities
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with engineering, designing, and project management of IE&C projects
  • Familiarity with technical responsibilities of other disciplines associated with IE&C designs
Physical and Ergonomic Requirements
  • Lifting/carrying: Carrying light loads related to field measurement equipment and equipment cases weighing 15 lbs. or less
  • Dexterity: Ability to type using a keyboard with relative efficiency and make handwritten notes and sketches indoors and outdoors
  • Walking/Climbing: Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to discern single line and 3-dimensional computer images representing objects being designed or drafted
  • Hearing: Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection
