Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Developmental Services, Inc. - Washington. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Care Services: Provide active direct care to designated clients, including assistance with daily living skills, socialization, and communication.
  • Client Support: Develop and implement individualized plans to support clients in achieving their goals and objectives.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client activities, progress, and any concerns.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medications to clients as needed.
  • Transportation: Transport clients to appointments, work, and other activities as required.
  • Home Care: Provide home care and personal care to clients in assisted living situations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with clients with intellectual disabilities or as a Direct Support Professional is preferred.
  • Certifications: Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining annual certification in CPR, First Aid, CPI, and Med Core A & B.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong teamwork skills are essential.
  • Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license, insurance on personal vehicle, and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier.
Work Environment

Our team members work in a fast-paced environment with occasional high noise levels, potential exposure to bodily fluids, and occasional exposure to fumes and industrial odors.
