Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Staff Veterinarian to join our team at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. As a key member of the Comparative Medicine department, you will provide exceptional veterinary care and leadership in our biomedical research facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding veterinary care to research animals, including diagnosis, treatment, and surgery, while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.
  • Manage and develop best practices for animal biosecurity, including quarantine, health surveillance, and environmental monitoring.
  • Participate in IACUC and USDA inspections, as well as AAALAC site visits, to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty on research projects, providing expertise on animal models, methods, and techniques.
  • Develop and implement training programs for comparative medicine staff and laboratory personnel, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (DVM or VMD degree) or completion of an education equivalence assessment certification program.
  • At least 6 years of experience providing veterinary care, preferably in a biomedical research setting.
  • Postdoctoral certification in Laboratory Animal Medicine is preferred.
  • Licenses to practice veterinary medicine in the US and California required, with ACLAM board certification and DEA registration highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $147,284 - $235,664, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
