Veterinarian Specialist for Biomedical Research

We are seeking an experienced Staff Veterinarian to join our team at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. As a key member of the Comparative Medicine department, you will provide exceptional veterinary care and leadership in our biomedical research facility.
Key Responsibilities- Provide outstanding veterinary care to research animals, including diagnosis, treatment, and surgery, while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.
- Manage and develop best practices for animal biosecurity, including quarantine, health surveillance, and environmental monitoring.
- Participate in IACUC and USDA inspections, as well as AAALAC site visits, to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with faculty on research projects, providing expertise on animal models, methods, and techniques.
- Develop and implement training programs for comparative medicine staff and laboratory personnel, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations.
- Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (DVM or VMD degree) or completion of an education equivalence assessment certification program.
- At least 6 years of experience providing veterinary care, preferably in a biomedical research setting.
- Postdoctoral certification in Laboratory Animal Medicine is preferred.
- Licenses to practice veterinary medicine in the US and California required, with ACLAM board certification and DEA registration highly desirable.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $147,284 - $235,664, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
