Job Title: Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a technical authority on information security for statewide IT systems.
  • Manage complex information security tasks for statewide IT infrastructures.
  • Provide expert consultation on diverse information security principles and methodologies.
  • Conduct comprehensive internal risk assessments and security evaluations for complex IT systems and applications.
  • Review and authorize elevated access requests as necessary.
  • Assess high-complexity data transfer requests to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Design, implement, document, and validate security solutions tailored to complex IT environments.
  • Develop and enforce information security controls and methodologies for significant statewide IT systems.
  • Research and analyze security technologies, processes, and methodologies.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of information security best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining strategies, technical analyses, control deficiencies, security vulnerabilities, and audit outcomes.

Additionally, you will:

  • Create and maintain Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) by documenting remediation strategies for identified deficiencies.
  • Facilitate training development for the assigned IT system and serve as a resource for information security awareness among employees and contractors.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and oversee the activities of junior InfoSec personnel to ensure consistent application of information security policies across all technology initiatives.
