This role operates under the direct guidance of the Member Services Managers and/or Head Tellers, focusing on delivering exceptional service to the members of the Community Credit Union while achieving sales objectives. The responsibilities encompass a variety of tasks on the teller line, including but not limited to accepting cash deposits and properly negotiated instruments, processing withdrawals, issuing official checks, and handling loan payments. The representative will also address general inquiries and perform member services duties, including branch opening and closing as necessary.

Every interaction with members should be characterized by courtesy, sincerity, and professionalism. Transactions must be processed in a polite, efficient manner, ensuring a positive experience for each member. The role includes cross-selling credit union products and services, generating quality referrals, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure every member interaction, whether in person or via phone, results in a positive experience.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Accurately process deposits, checks, payments, and other transactions in accordance with credit union policies.
  • Open share accounts, Certificates of Deposit, and issue Money Orders and Bank Checks.
  • Perform clerical duties, including filing and updating member records.
  • Cross-sell products and services to both existing and prospective members.
  • Prepare daily settlement sheets and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Stay informed about compliance policies and regulations, ensuring adherence to BSA, AML, and other relevant laws.
  • Participate in training sessions and branch meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a banking or teller role is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy regulations.
  • Excellent communication and member service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a strong attendance record.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is required.

Work Environment:

This position is situated in a general office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers and telecommunication systems.
