Job Summary

The City and County of San Francisco - Human Services Agency is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Care Specialist to join our team. As a Child Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare services to children in a licensed childcare center or qualified license-exempt program. You will work closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide childcare services to children in a licensed childcare center or qualified license-exempt program.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for children.
  • Provide support to families regarding needs of their child, providing community resource referrals for health concerns and/or family resource center referrals.
  • Maintain an orderly, comfortable, and safe learning environment which includes providing children with age appropriate and developmentally appropriate assistance with activities as well as providing snacks and providing restroom/diaper assistance.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians via in-person meetings, email, phone, or text regarding feedback and/or major concerns of the behavior of children.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in a licensed childcare center or qualified license-exempt program. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
