Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will:

  • Develop software tools and subsystems to facilitate software reuse and domain analysis while overseeing their implementation.
  • Manage software development processes utilizing formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and established design methodologies, including Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
  • Estimate costs and timelines for software development projects.
  • Review and refine existing programs to enhance performance and improve operational techniques.
  • Formulate and define specifications for new software applications or modify existing ones using engineering releases and manufacturer utilities.
  • Oversee program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Guide and evaluate the work of other team members.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and assess both existing and new software products.

Essential Skills:

  • Analyze newly identified vulnerabilities within the security tool suite and perform gap analyses.
  • Research and evaluate commercial solutions to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct alternative analyses and present findings in a Technical Analysis package for evaluation.
  • Collaborate with other organizations to procure and manage new hardware and software for solution implementation.
  • Prepare Configuration Plans and software enhancement strategies to ensure seamless integration with user interfaces.
  • Design and implement access controls as part of system solutions.
  • Enhance and test existing hardware and software to ensure compatibility with current architecture.
  • Coordinate testing, integration, and deployment activities with external stakeholders.
  • Deploy security solutions and ensure a fully functional computing environment.
  • Provide training on newly deployed tool capabilities to authorized users.
  • Continuously monitor the status of security tools and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Conduct database administration to maintain system health and performance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in computer science or software engineering in similar programs.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may substitute for a degree.

Security Clearance: This position requires an active Security Clearance with the appropriate Polygraph.
