Job Summary

Havtech LLC is seeking a skilled Applications Engineer to join our team in the Estimating Department. As an Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing technical support for the bidding process by estimating the cost of commercial HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate costs for HVAC equipment and systems related to assigned bid opportunities.
  • Utilize scope of work, drawings, plans, and specifications to estimate all costs.
  • Prepare proposal and pricing break downs while evaluating equipment savings and costs.
  • Assemble bid files, including all development information, in the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Document work by maintaining files for each job, including internal and external correspondence.
  • Use computer skills to improve estimating systems and select software.
  • Develop relationships with represented manufacturers and vendors to gain relevant information.
  • Communicate effectively with contacts related to assigned bids to gather necessary information.
  • Identify customer needs to facilitate proposal and pricing summary generation.
  • Simultaneously handle a diverse number of projects and bid opportunities with associated time-sensitive deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the HVAC industry performing estimating projects or related work.
  • Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
  • Basic PC experience in Windows environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Web-enabled applications, and intermediate level experience with Excel.
  • Excellent math aptitude, superior follow-up skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Collaborative attitude, thrive in a team-based environment, and support the department as an individual contributor.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

The work environment is quiet, and the employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
