DaVita Patient Care Technician Job Description

DaVita is seeking a compassionate and empathetic Patient Care Technician to join our team in an outpatient dialysis center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment to our patients suffering from end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct Patient Care: Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Technician Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Building Long-Term Relationships: Develop strong relationships with patients and their families, providing education on kidney dialysis-related topics and supporting their overall well-being.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Requirements:
  • Desire to Enter the Healthcare Field: A passion for caring for others and a desire to make a difference in the lives of patients.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Comfort with Blood and Needles: Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Physical and Mental Ability: Must be physically and mentally able to work long hours, including 12+ hour shifts, on your feet.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
