Job Title: Special Education Paraeducator

At TEEMA, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraeducator to join our team. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in our educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in various special education programs, providing one-on-one or small group instruction to students.
  • Prepare materials for lessons, correct papers, and collaborate with regular and special education staff to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
  • Support students with individual learning and health needs, including medical or health services such as catheterization, diapering, toileting, feeding, and tube feeding.
  • Physically assist students with restraint, lifting, and transferring to a safe place, requiring physical strength and stamina.
  • Work with students with special needs/high needs at the school level, utilizing your experience and skills to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree (AA) or 90 college level (Clvl) quarter-hour credits. Completion of the ETS ParaPro Assessment test will be accepted in lieu of college credits.
  • Paraeducator 2 requires a Right Response Training or CPI or National Autism Certification.
  • Ability and willingness to provide medical or health services, as well as physically assist students with special needs.
  • Experience working with students with special needs/high needs at the school level.
