About the Job:
As a Forest Management Technician, you will assist the USFS and BLM in accomplishing their management goals including, but not limited to, timber sale planning, pre-commercial thinning, piling, prescribed burning, both piles and broadcast, and brushing roads. This position will also implement all-lands, cross-boundary work to achieve forest restoration on a landscape scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in timber sale planning, pre-commercial thinning, and prescribed burning
- Implement all-lands, cross-boundary work for forest restoration
- Perform fire suppression duties as needed
Requirements:
Eighteen months of experience working in the field of natural resources and/or reforestation. An Associate Degree in Forestry, Forest Engineering, Forest Recreation, Fire Protection, or a related natural resource field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
