Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Rosecrance. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our psychiatric providers in delivering high-quality services.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing direct care to clients, assisting psychiatric providers with client health history/assessment, and ensuring continuity of program services in a safe and therapeutic environment. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist psychiatric providers with client health history/assessment and provide direct care to clients
  • Ensure continuity of program services in a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Coordinate psychiatric appointments and schedule client follow-up sessions
  • Provide clerical assistance to medical leadership, including the entry of note templates for psychiatric providers
  • Conduct client health history assessments, assist with vital sign assessments, and provide reports to psychiatric providers
  • Transcribe medical orders and provide follow-up communication to clients with ongoing medical concerns
  • Monitor and document client's response to medication and report any notable response immediately
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED and one year of addiction treatment experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Certified as a CNA, CMA, EMT or greater
  • Cardiopulmonary-resuscitation (CPR) and First-Aid training complete within three months
  • Experience utilizing behavioral management techniques
  • Ability to lead discussion and educational presentations
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
