About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Member Scientist, Clinical Research to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. This is an on-site position that requires a strong background in clinical research and a passion for advancing healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical research projects, generating reports and publications based on research findings.
  • Build a research infrastructure, including recruitment plans and research plans to ensure Hackensack Meridian Health is positioned to respond to national grant opportunities.
  • Maintain, revise, and renew institutional agreements related to human subjects research, ensuring operational review and procedures prior to study approval.
  • Engage and foster research relationships and partnerships, encouraging growth and professional development in team members.
  • Participate in grant contracts and associated projects, providing grant-mandated audits, budgets, and reports.
  • Oversee all aspects of research operations administration, including regulatory compliance and fiscal management.
  • Recruit and manage research staff, identifying and recommending disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Establish pipeline relationships with outside companies to negotiate research budgets and contracts.
  • Provide continuing education programs for medical staff, nursing, therapists, and research staff to increase knowledge and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Facilitate data abstraction requests and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • PhD from an accredited graduate level institution in a medical, healthcare, or scientific field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical healthcare and 8 years of experience in clinical research.
  • Progressively increasing levels of responsibility in organization-wide clinical research programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant clinical research and human subject regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational, team building, and partnership-building skills.
  • Sophisticated approaches to identifying and addressing institutional risk concerns and issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in neuropsychology/rehabilitation.
  • Society of Clinical Research Associates Certification or Certified Clinical Research Administrator or Certified Clinical Research Professional.
