We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court Security Officer to join our team at the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS. As a Court Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing security services to our buildings, employees, and citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct security checks on individuals entering our facilities
  • Monitor metal detectors and patrol buildings to ensure a safe environment
  • Construct professional reports and testify in court as needed
  • Operate various equipment, including fire alarms, computers, panic alarms, and elevators
  • Effectively use firearms and tasers, if necessary
  • Work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 18 years of age
  • Pass basic security course and semi-annual weapons qualifications
  • Qualify with Conducted Electrical Weapon (Taser) and pass OC qualification
  • Valid Driver's License required at the time of application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including those pertaining to search and seizure
  • Knowledge of security procedures, methods, and protocol

Compensation:

$20.60-$26.94/hour
