We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings Charter School. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students and helping them develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that our curriculum meets and exceeds the common core standards of learning
- Partner with the math team to develop effective learning strategies for students who require academic interventions
- Work closely with peers and school administrators to develop multifaceted curriculum that integrates multiple subjects and approaches
- Take an entrepreneurial approach to your curriculum, teaching methods, and optional duties to ensure flexibility, forward thinking, and creativity
- Regularly report student progress and maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to scholars' achievement and performance
- Take an active role in your professional development by identifying and creating opportunities that expand your skills as an educator
- Assist with preparing students for New York State exams
- Communicate frequently with scholars, parents, colleagues, and other school staff members with information that is pertinent to your scholars and their performance
- Take an active role in community outreach and contribute to the school's strategic initiatives
- A valid and current New York State Teacher Certification
- A bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- A measurable and proven track record of teaching success in a NY District or Charter School
- At least two years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in an urban school
