Job Summary

Argo Cyber Systems is seeking a highly skilled SAFe Principal Software Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and collaborate within Agile Scrum teams as an Agile Release Train (ART) lead responsible for developing advanced, leading-edge, cloud-oriented automation and orchestration architectures.
  • Facilitate program and team-related Agile events, including PI Planning, Release Governance, Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, and maintain all artifacts.
  • Eliminate impediments and actively address issues to ensure the team remains focused on achieving the objectives of the Program Increment (PI).
  • Escalate blocking issues beyond a team's authority or requiring support from other teams.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment through coaching and leading.
  • Prepare and lead ART events, and assist teams in preparation for ART activities.
  • Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams as a key contributor responsible for the design, test, and implementation of advanced cybersecurity infrastructure capabilities.
  • Review high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, test plans, and contract deliverable items, and support product training.
  • Develop risk assessments and risk mitigation countermeasures.
  • Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision.
  • Lead Agile Scrum teams in the system design and implementation of advanced, cloud-oriented autonomous cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Interface directly with customers, stakeholders, and end-users regarding capability architectures, requirements, use cases, and stories.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of requirements-driven automation architecture.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret (S) clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • DHS Suitability
  • Proven leadership skills and meaningful experience successfully leading projects
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and technology, and/or experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Thinking, Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership, either at Customer, VP, or Director levels
  • Ability to shape key stakeholder direction and influence outcomes through the analysis of information and identification of relevant facts
  • Independently driven, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • 10+ years of professional experience in a technology-related field
  • 5+ years of direct experience in complex autonomous package builds, autonomous API-driven backends, infrastructure automation and orchestration, event-driven micro-service architectures, orchestrated infrastructure automation, or configuration-driven deployments
  • 2+ years of experience in AWS, MS Azure, or GCP
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-environment autonomous orchestration, automation tooling, pipeline deployments, or software application integration
Desired Skills
  • Experience leading teams and projects at the tech lead or product owner level
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Git, Ansible, Chef, AWS Lambda, Terraform, or cloud-native tools like CloudFormation
  • Programming experience in Java, JavaScript,.Net, Python, or Ruby
  • Familiarity with using, updating, and programmatically manipulating Linux and Windows
  • Experience with NTP, DNS, Networking, LDAP, or software repositories
  • Experience with branching and release strategies, CI/CD pipelines
  • AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation experience
  • Experience designing and implementing event-driven microservice architectures
  • Experience in technical oversight of individuals and projects
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments
  • SAFe knowledge and experience
  • Experience with agile tools, including Jira and Jira Align
Education

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education.

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Certifications related to Agile development and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Practitioner (SP), or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
