JOB SUMMARY

Are you an experienced systems engineer passionate about leading Agile transformations and driving innovation? We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer II to join a dynamic team remotely (based out of Dulles, VA). The position can be remote if you live within two hours of Dulles, Virginia. In this role, you will be a key player in fostering high-performing Agile Release Trains (ARTs), guiding teams through continuous improvement, and ensuring the seamless delivery of value in a cutting-edge technology environment. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Lean-Agile Mindset: Lead and inspire teams to adopt Lean-Agile Values and Principles, ensuring alignment with industry best practices to optimize productivity and value flow.

Agile Transformation: Drive the journey to high-performing teams by promoting transparency, empowerment, and continuous learning. Manage and optimize ART-level events, including Program Increment (PI) Planning and Inspect & Adapt (I&A) workshops.

Training & Development: Deliver SAFe certification training, empowering participants to advance their Agile expertise and pursue further certifications.

Value Stream Optimization: Define, document, and enhance ART development value streams, utilizing metrics to foster continuous improvement and accountability.

Collaboration & Facilitation: Partner with Product Management, RTEs, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to prioritize backlogs, define roadmaps, and facilitate smooth PI Planning events.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

U.S. Citizenship

Active Secret Security clearance

Must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance

Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability

EXPERIENCE

10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or a related technical field

2+ years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer (RTE) in an Agile environment

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. (Two years of related work experience may substitute for each year of required education.)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficiency in problem-solving, influence, and leadership in Agile environments Advanced knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP) Proficient with Jira software and other Agile tools.

COMMUNICATION

Excellent skills in collaboration, communication, and engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Tools: Experience with Jira Align and Confluence. Domain Expertise: Knowledge of Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Big Data, DevSecOps, and Automation. Agile Frameworks: Deep understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and ability to apply Agile best practices at both team and ART levels
