Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our dynamic team at Summit Design + Build in Austin, Texas.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct support to project management and field supervision staff from project inception to completion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing thorough reviews to ensure all aspects align with project goals;
  • Developing bidders lists, managing subcontract scopes, and ensuring timely execution of contracts;
  • Preparing cost estimates and managing project finances including budgets, cost tracking, and change orders;
  • Developing and maintaining the overall project schedule, ensuring timely updates and adjustments as needed;
  • Managing critical documents like RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes to keep the project on track;
  • Assisting in ensuring all project aspects meet Summit's rigorous standards for quality and safety.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field;
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in commercial construction;
  • Strong decision-making abilities under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Committed to quality and excellence;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in On Screen Takeoff, Sage CRE 300, Procore, and Bluebeam preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, dental, and life insurance. Additional benefits include:
