Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Summary:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, including preparing and maintaining records of observations and care given
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes, including participating in and receiving report daily at start of shift
  • Support nursing staff in a calm and efficient manner during acute and emergency situations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department's leadership and in accordance with established DHR routines, methods, and techniques
Requirements:
  • Graduated from an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant program
  • Current Texas CNA license required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
Working Conditions:

The individual spends over 95% of their time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Physical Requirements:

The individual must be able to lift, move, and transfer patients, as well as perform other physical demands of the job.
