Job Title: Assistant Director of Psychology

Life's WORC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Psychology to join our team. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical oversight and guidance to our Behavior Intervention Specialists, ensuring that our services are person-centered and in compliance with OPWDD regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Active participant in the Human Rights Committee, ensuring that the rights and dignity of individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism are respected and protected.
  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance to Behavior Intervention Specialists, ensuring that their work is person-centered and in compliance with OPWDD regulations.
  • Develop and maintain clinical systems designed to meet Quality Assurance requirements, ensuring that our services are of the highest quality.
  • Active participant in core Admissions processes, including intake screenings and observations, to ensure that individuals receive the support they need.
  • Develop Clinical justifications and Behavior Support Plans for all newly accepted individuals in Residential, ensuring that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Work closely with Residential/Day Habilitation Supervisors, Directors, Managers, and Clinicians to ensure that quality, person-centered services are provided to those in need of behavioral support.
  • Provide direct collaboration, training, and support to Behavior Intervention Specialists to ensure that their work is person-centered and in compliance with OPWDD regulations.
  • Collaborate with families and outside service providers as needed, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive support.
  • Responsible for reviewing and managing the Monthly Challenging Behavior Summaries with graphing, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop a departmental monthly report identifying individuals in crisis, ensuring that timely interventions are put in place.
  • Participate in Incident Review Committee meetings and Internal Audit processes, ensuring that timely follow-up is provided for all Psychology-related plans of corrective action.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the Behavior Consent process, ensuring that individuals' rights are respected.
  • Fills in for vacant Behavior Intervention Specialist positions in the residences, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Supervises Day Program Behavior Intervention Specialist, providing guidance and support.
  • Develops and conducts clinical trainings as needed, ensuring that staff are equipped to provide high-quality services.
  • Conducts New Employee Orientation and New Management Orientation trainings as needed, ensuring that new staff are equipped to provide high-quality services.
  • Provides crisis intervention support as needed, ensuring that individuals receive timely support.
  • Facilitates BIS consultant review meetings annually, ensuring that staff are equipped to provide high-quality services.
  • Participates in agency committees as needed, ensuring that the voice of individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism is represented.
