Retail Department Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Retail Department Coordinator to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Create a positive internal and external customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
- Promote a culture of honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and upholding our company values.
- Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor and ensuring efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, maintaining our high standards of presentation and organization.
- Communicate effectively with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure seamless operations and address any issues that may arise.
- Monitor productivity of the team and coach as necessary, providing guidance and support to ensure we meet our goals and objectives.
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment, maintaining our high standards of inventory management.
- Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards, ensuring our stores look their best at all times.
- Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, upholding our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, providing progress updates and feedback.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback, fostering a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness and support the growth and development of our team members.
- Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, upholding our commitment to compliance and regulatory excellence.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs, encouraging customers to join and engage with our rewards programs.
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs, working together to minimize losses and maximize profits.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment, ensuring the well-being of our Associates and customers.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to train others and provide guidance and support to ensure their success.
- 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
