Position Overview

The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer plays a crucial role in collaborating with software developers, system administrators, and IT operations personnel to design, automate, monitor, and manage the platform services that support NetJets' business applications. This position is responsible for overseeing code releases and deployments through continuous integration and continuous delivery, ensuring adherence to operational standards for security, high availability, disaster recovery, logging, and monitoring. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with development teams to architect and implement infrastructure and platform solutions that align with security and operational standards.
  • Automating, patching, upgrading, and managing platform services such as WebSphere and Tomcat.
  • Championing the adoption of DevOps methodologies for infrastructure services and application deployments.
  • Providing round-the-clock support as necessary for NetJets operations.
  • Implementing automation and proactive monitoring for applications and platform services.
  • Guiding team members in best practices related to DevOps.
  • Complying with patching SLAs for critical systems to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Skills:
    • Over 6 years of experience in DevOps, Software Development, or Infrastructure.
    • Expertise in middleware technologies such as WebSphere and Tomcat.
    • Solid understanding of web application and database architectures.
    • Familiarity with Agile and other development methodologies.
    • Experience with Linux, Windows, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and more.
  • Business/Personal Skills:
    • Experience at a senior level or as a team lead is advantageous.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across various application domains.
    • Capacity to work independently and lead small-scale projects.
    • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
    • Dedication to continuous improvement and rapid learning of new technologies.
