Position Overview
An Aircraft Fueling Specialist is tasked with the fueling and maintenance of aircraft, ensuring the safe and effective use of equipment during fueling operations.
- Conduct fueling and de-fueling tasks in a secure and efficient manner.
- Account for fuel transactions with precision.
- Execute de-icing procedures as necessary.
- Keep fueling equipment in a clean and operational state.
- Ensure proper loading and distribution of fuel.
- Utilize fuel trucks, hydrant carts, and stationary carts for aircraft fueling.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
The following tasks may be performed under varying weather and environmental conditions, including exposure to jet engine fumes, dust, or noise. Candidates must be capable of:
- Regularly standing, walking, using hands for handling or feeling; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and communicating effectively.
- Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds.
- Operating company vehicles safely.
- Performing basic mathematical functions related to weight, measurement, and volume.
- Reading, writing, and fluently communicating in English.
- Wearing the designated uniform and insignia as required by the company.
- Reporting to work consistently and punctually.
To excel in this role, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential job function effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); three to six months of relevant experience and/or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug screenings, and obtain and maintain an airport security badge, as well as be insurable under the company's insurance policies.
- Legal authorization to work in the country of employment is required.
- Preferred knowledge of fueling and de-fueling protocols for various aircraft, de-icing methods, and fueling processes for ground equipment.
- A valid state driver's license is mandatory.
- Successful completion of the company's training program is required.
- Commercial Driver License is necessary for specific locations.
