Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate, School Engagement to join our team. As a key member of our School Engagement Team, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission of championing longer, healthier lives by engaging students, parents, school administrators, and other partners with the American Heart Association.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for health and a resourceful, customer-service-oriented approach to engaging youth, teachers, and volunteers to enthusiastic action. Key responsibilities include leading school assemblies and presentations, providing service to schools on-site and remotely, helping with email campaigns, scheduling recruitment and planning meetings with schools, and performing data entry and donation processing within established standards and policies.

This is a full-time, seasonal (temporary) position from December 2024 up through April 2025. The expected pay range is $19.60 per hour to $25.00 per hour, with pay commensurate with experience and geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.

Responsibilities

Lead school assemblies and presentations to engage students, parents, and school administrators with the American Heart Association's mission and initiatives.

Provide exceptional customer service to schools, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with email campaigns, scheduling recruitment and planning meetings with schools, and performing data entry and donation processing within established standards and policies.

Collaborate with the Development team to advance our mission and achieve fundraising goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.

Strong customer service and teamwork orientation.

Effective organizational, detail management, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to adapt and present to a wide range of audiences, from kindergarteners to teens and adults, to facilitate online and in-person presentations.

Ability to do daily local travel and overnight travel, requiring access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
