Veterinary Technician for Emergency and Critical Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care team at the University of Florida. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in the emergency and critical care services.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting with emergency and critical care procedures, and collaborating with our veterinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and compassionate team that is dedicated to providing exceptional care to animals in need.
Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and monitoring patient conditions.
- Assist with emergency and critical care procedures, including intubation, ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Collaborate with our veterinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies in emergency and critical care.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine; certified veterinary technician (CVT) or registered veterinary technician (RVT) certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for extended periods; willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
