Custodian Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Cutlers Janitorial Llc. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of various locations, including dusting and mopping floors, sweeping and cleaning common areas, and restocking supplies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Dust and damp mop floors using germicidal techniques to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
  2. Sweep and clean facility entranceways, rooms, and common areas to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  3. Remove trash and dispose of waste materials in an environmentally responsible manner.
  4. Vacuum and spot clean carpets to maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan.
  5. Operate industrial cleaning machines to efficiently complete tasks.
  6. Restock and clean restrooms using germicide solution to promote hygiene and cleanliness.
  7. Wipe down and disinfect areas to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.
  8. Maintain custodial supplies in assigned storage areas to ensure easy access when needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in custodial work preferred.
  • Ability to work at various locations within Hampton Roads when needed, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position, with a strong emphasis on communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position, with a focus on maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication, to enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Ability to perform work involving regular physical activity, observe safety requirements, and adhere to safe work practices and methods.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
