Behavioral Health Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our team at LewisGale Medical Center. As a member of our psychiatric unit, you will be accountable for delivering exceptional care to our patients, assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating care to positively impact patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess and plan care for patients with mental health conditions, including developing and implementing individualized care plans.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, conducting therapy sessions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Document patient information accurately and timely, using electronic medical records to track patient progress and communicate with healthcare teams.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care and ensure effective communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required)
- BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
- Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or current multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VA is required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
