Job Title: Patient Transport

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a Patient Transporter, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients within the hospital setting. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport patients to various departments within the hospital, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Operate hospital equipment, such as wheelchairs and stretchers, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure seamless transportation and care.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient transportation, including arrival and departure times, and any notable incidents or issues.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull equipment as needed.
Working Conditions:

This position involves exposure to biohazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens. The incumbent must be able to perform all job functions safely and effectively.
