Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Davis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, as well as contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Psychology
  • Develop and implement curriculum and instructional materials for courses in psychology
  • Contribute to the development of departmental and university-wide initiatives related to teaching and learning
  • Engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and learning, including research and publication
  • Participate in departmental and university-wide service activities, including committee work and professional development
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in psychology (or related field) or anticipated to be completed by July 1, 2025
  • Evidence of teaching, scholarship, and leadership relevant to successful teaching in the discipline of psychology
  • Track record of and plans for future contributions to activities addressing the needs of individuals historically excluded from higher education
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to develop curriculum and instruct undergraduate and graduate students
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to develop a successful program of scholarship in teaching and learning in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability or potential and interest to mentor undergraduate and graduate students
  • Evidence of communication and perspective-taking skills and collegiality consistent with effective departmental, campus, and professional citizenship
