About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to a wide array of research endeavors, focusing on the development of innovative products and solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing and executing large-scale experiments, swiftly implementing promising concepts, and managing project timelines and deliverables. You will leverage cutting-edge theories to enhance existing products, processes, or technologies.

As a Research Scientist, you will also play a vital role in the broader research community by disseminating your findings through publications and collaborations with academic institutions and technical organizations worldwide. The mission of Google Quantum AI is to construct a large-scale quantum computer capable of performing complex, error-corrected computations, unlocking solutions to traditionally intractable challenges.

Compensation

The salary range for this full-time position is competitive, reflecting the role, level, and location. Individual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and publish research papers to disseminate findings and enhance the impact of research outcomes.
  • Foster research development by sharing insights on trends and best practices within the community, including reviewing academic literature and participating in program committees.
  • Lead significant portions of research projects by defining data structures, frameworks, designs, and evaluation metrics for development and implementation.
  • Explore new research domains by collaborating with both internal and external partners, formulating long-term strategies to amplify the influence of Google research.
  • Identify and address complex challenges in existing technologies by engaging with stakeholders and leadership.
