Position OverviewWe are currently seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, focused on the care of complex trauma patients. This role involves collaborating with a diverse group of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care from the moment of admission through to discharge and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage in a dynamic academic environment
- Collaborate with a distinguished team of trauma specialists
- Participate in groundbreaking research and academic projects
- Primarily focus on inpatient care with opportunities for outpatient clinic involvement
- Manage patients in both Intermediate Care and acute settings
- Provide coverage from Monday to Sunday, during daytime hours only
Clinical Competencies:
- Possess a thorough understanding of trauma physiology and management of related medical conditions
- Conduct comprehensive histories and physical examinations tailored to clinical presentations
- Order and interpret relevant diagnostic assessments
- Develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness of care plans
- Manage a variety of medical and surgical conditions, understanding their associated risks and benefits
- Collaborate effectively with trauma surgeons and other team leaders based on patient needs
- Facilitate coordinated care and maintain clear communication among all team members
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Provide compassionate counseling to patients and families regarding injuries and treatment options
- Ensure accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system
