Key ResponsibilitiesCore Duties:
Manage all Human Resources operations in support of organizational objectives, encompassing employee relations, benefits management, performance evaluation, career development, and training initiatives; Formulate Human Resources strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company's strategic vision; Collaborate with operational divisions to achieve strategic objectives through the development and execution of HR processes, policies, and programs. Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations; actively engage with senior leadership in policy formulation and implementation. Operate the HR Department as a cost-effective unit, consistently seeking to minimize overhead and enhance the department's contribution to the company's profitability.
Essential Skills:
Demonstrated success in researching and implementing industry benchmarks, including compensation structures, job descriptions, and benefits; Comprehensive understanding of employee benefits, including the administration of retirement plans (PS/401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plans), health, disability, and life insurance; Proficient in developing and executing corporate policies; Proven ability to build high-performing teams and serve as a mentor; Familiarity with HRIS systems, preferably Dynamics or similar platforms; Awareness of contemporary trends in HR outsourcing, employee benefits, web-based HR, and self-service HR solutions; Capacity to effectively support operational business units in a cost-efficient manner; Collaborate closely with the President/CEO, Sector Presidents, CFO, and CIO to meet business objectives; Proficient in analyzing financial statements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in public speaking.
Qualifications· Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
· PHR or SPHR Certification from the Society of Human Resources Management and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred.
· A minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources Management.
· Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) sector is preferred.
· Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based on the position.
Performance Expectations- Complete Annual Individual Training Program
- Recruit, hire, and lead a high-performance team
- Submit and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
- Train backup personnel to support your role in your absence
- Attend monthly Administrative Managers' meetings, town hall meetings, and Manager's Meetings
- Adhere to all KCI policies and procedures
- Conduct periodic office visits and address HR needs of remote employees
- Consult with CEO and President on high-level employment offers as necessary
- Meet annual Performance Agreements targets
- Engage monthly or more frequently as needed with Discipline Managers and President
- Complete additional duties as assigned
- Provide input to CEO for strategic planning
- Represent KCI positively and professionally in all employee inquiries and external matters
- Review annual Employee Satisfaction Survey and implement necessary corrective actions
- Provide information as requested for proposal submissions
- Ensure effective utilization of facilities, equipment, and personnel
- Manage the daily work routine of all assigned employees and assign job activities as needed
- Operate within specified budget parameters
- Develop annual HR budget and submit to CFO by November 1
- Oversee all aspects of human resources management, including health and welfare benefits
- Review and approve vendor invoices
- Serve as KCI's Affirmative Action Officer and develop annual plans (AAP or FAAP)
- Analyze and prepare semi-annual Turnover Report and Exit Interview Summary Report for review with CEO and President
- Assist C-Suite executives with the evaluation and successful integration of new employees from KCI acquisitions
- Support managers with disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy
- Conduct annual benchmarking survey of benefits programs and recommend changes
- Conduct Annual Compensation Survey (as needed), analyze results, and report to CEO and President
- Conduct Annual Employee Survey, analyze results, and report to CEO and President/COO
- Consult with external legal counsel as needed
- Develop and oversee new hire orientation and onboarding processes
- Formulate, submit for approval, and implement company HR policies and procedures, in compliance with all Federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Manage KCI's Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program
- Oversee performance appraisal processes
- Supervise HRIS/Payroll initiatives and activities
- Propose, organize, and manage ESOP activities to enhance employee engagement
- Guide managers and ensure KCI adheres to all Federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Recommend and prepare severance agreements
- Develop and manage employee training programs
- Review and approve Educational Assistance Requests
- Set strategic objectives and manage corporate wellness program initiatives and activities.
