Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vinyl Extrusion Process Engineer to join our team at Style Crest. This role is responsible for providing technical support and leading activities to continuously improve methods and procedures used in vinyl siding, skirting, and accessory manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement methods to reduce manufacturing costs, improve processes, and enhance product reliability.
  • Drive troubleshooting efforts and resolve manufacturing deficiencies in the Vinyl department.
  • Implement corrective action to eliminate process problems and ensure operational performance.
  • Confer with management, engineering, maintenance, and quality personnel to resolve extrusion problems and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate activities for modifying extruders, machines, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Review production, quality, maintenance, recycled materials, and operational reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Train Manufacturing Supervisors and develop and revise standard operational procedures (SOPs) and work practices.
  • Manage the Extrusion Technician Training Program and ensure all changes in processes are communicated and necessary training provided to associates.
  • Direct startups, shutdowns, and tear backs as needed and provide technical expertise to management and supervisors.
Requirements
  • 5 to 10 years of significant extrusion experience in a fast-paced 24/7 post-form operation.
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience using recycled materials in the extrusion process.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply this knowledge to troubleshoot processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and quality issues.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • A success track record of process improvements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook with the ability to build and manipulate data in spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of AS400 and a MRP is preferred.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills with the ability to train others on technical processes.
