Position Title: Skilled Mechanical Vehicle and Equipment Repairer

Compensation: $28.41 per hour

Position Overview:

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • Report to a designated supervisor
  • Perform maintenance tasks with limited oversight

Key Duties:

  • Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair both diesel and gasoline engines
  • Repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Inspect and fix safety equipment and lighting systems
  • Address issues related to brake system performance and diagnostics
  • Work on automotive electrical systems and cooling components
  • Maintain hydraulic systems and conduct tire repairs
  • Perform minor bodywork and other related responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in vehicle repair
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle and equipment repair
  • CDL class B license with passenger transport endorsement
  • A.S.E. certification in bus or heavy truck repair is preferred

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics and electrical systems
  • Ability to diagnose and perform repairs on various systems
  • Effective communication skills and technical comprehension
  • Physical strength and agility to perform essential job functions

Work Environment:

  • Work in and around heavy traffic
  • Exposure to noise, hazardous conditions, and chemicals
  • Perform tasks in extreme heat and confined spaces
