Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Cherokee Federal. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a facility as it relates to vehicle and boat maintenance, carpentry, minor electrical and grounds maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle and Fleet: Ensure all fleet vehicles and vessels are maintained in a state of readiness for deployment at any time, including monthly service inspections and proper record keeping.
  • Carpentry: Construct, alter, modify, or repair various features in buildings and facilities, including construction of storage areas, work rooms, and offices.
  • Grounds Maintenance and Building Maintenance: Perform lawn cutting, trimming, and edging, as well as landscaping and applying herbicides to rid grounds of unwanted weeds and grasses.
  • Routine Building Maintenance: Apply plaster, fix fountains, pressure wash, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minor Repairs and Maintenance: Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment used in grounds keeping.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate various power and hand tools, including portable drills, clippers, joiners, shapers, sanders, nail guns, combustion saws, routers, band and scroll saws, drill presses, tractors, and forklifts.
Requirements
  • High School Graduation
  • 3-4 years of combined technical education, training, and/or experience in similar duties
  • USAccess
  • Skills to operate and troubleshoot equipment used to perform tasks
  • Previous knowledge and proven abilities to support facilities of similar size and scope
  • Pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
