Job Title: Peer Recovery Coach

EAC Network, a leading social service agency, seeks a Peer Recovery Coach to join its Collaborative Legal Engagement and Addiction Response (CLEAR) program in Brooklyn, NY.

Job Summary:

The Peer Recovery Coach will provide on-going support to participants referred to the program, fostering positive relationships and connecting them to community-based services. This role requires a strong understanding of the target population and borough resources, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to precincts throughout Brooklyn to engage with prospective participants and promote the program's benefits.
  • Identify and facilitate emergency resources for participants, ensuring their immediate needs are met.
  • Encourage participants to visit with the program Case Manager and follow up with referrals to community-based support resources and other ancillary services.
  • Meet with clients on an on-going basis, providing support, advice, and guidance as needed.
  • Provide Naloxone kits and training to participants, as required.
  • Participate in team meetings and regularly scheduled on-going trainings and supervision.
  • Maintain client charts and notes, updating after each interaction with the client.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or educational equivalent required.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Coach Certification (CRPA) or training preferred.
  • OASAS/OMH Peer Specialist Certification or peer specialist training, such as Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy and Training Center Peer Specialist Program, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with multiple agencies.
  • Knowledge of target population and borough resources.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required.
