Senior Acquisition Specialist

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition protocols and will utilize analytical techniques to collect, assess, and interpret data necessary for government operations. This role involves aiding in the enhancement of acquisition efficiency and compliance, drafting acquisition documents, and conducting quality assessments. The candidate will also engage in workload studies, efficiency evaluations, and utilize automated management systems for analytical and advisory tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate essential acquisition events and evaluations, including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Technical Coordination Meetings (TCM).
  • Assist in establishing and managing databases while analyzing key program metrics.
  • Monitor technical metrics and report on their status.
  • Apply knowledge of DoD and Air Force program analysis to assist in planning and presenting assessments of project management concepts and procedures.
  • Support the development and approval of requirements documents and assist in translating user requirements into Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation.
  • Aid in the implementation of policies and tools for capability planning and development.
  • Encourage the use of Modeling Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Assist in integrating intelligence information to ensure effective planning and system acquisition.
  • Provide comprehensive support for program cost, schedule, and performance management.
  • Gather and prepare technical data for staff summary packages for milestone approvals.
  • Support the development of schedules and metrics necessary for tracking program status.
  • Coordinate with various government organizations to resolve programmatic issues.
  • Assist in planning and participating in integrated program reviews and conferences.
  • Support various acquisition reporting processes and participate in process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

    • Comprehensive understanding of DoD acquisition processes and analytical techniques.
    • Eligibility for a DoD clearance; US Citizenship is mandatory.
    • One of the following combinations of education and experience:
      • Advanced Degree (MA/MS) with twelve (12) years of relevant experience, including five (5) years in the DoD.
      • BA/BS degree with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, including five (5) years in the DoD.
      • High school diploma with twenty (20) years of directly related experience, including eight (8) years in the DoD.
  • Preference may be given to candidates residing in Hubzone Areas.
